Summer & physique update
It's been a minute, and I can tell you that a lot has happened since I last blogged. To list a few highlights, I spent two weeks in Kenya with family & friends, I travelled to Nigeria for an exquisite cultural experience (if you can attend a wedding there, I highly recommend it), I spent a couple of long-weekends at beach towns in the Northeast of the U.S., I moved into a new apartment (in love with my new neighborhood), and my work-life has been hectic at best.
As you can imagine, my fitness regimen has been non-existent during these transitions. I was working out whenever I could spare time (a yoga class here, a leg-day there), my meal frequency was up and down, my alcohol intake unregulated (there was an excessive amount of champagne flowing at the Nigerian wedding & let's not even get into my Kenya trip), my portion-control...remind me what that is? & my water intake was preposterous. But there were some victories: I somehow, I managed to maintain healthy eating, mostly through prepping my meals, and I took my vitamins & supplements daily (I will be sure to put up an updated vitamins and supplement post soon).
So I figured, why not do a physique update? I'm about to start up a new fitness plan to get myself back into the swing of healthy living, so knowing my metrics would be the first step - we can’t know where we’re going if we don’t know where we are. Also, please do enjoy some pictures from my recent trips!
PS: To my cousins who have newborns and requested a post-baby fitness routine, a friend of mine, Zoe, runs a blog that covers pregnancy & post-natal related topics! Check out Zoe's blog: ThinkBaby.org, and her post Why body patience after pregnancy is important here.
