Vacation diaries - New Orleans
It's become rather customary for me to write a blog post each time that I vacation. I'm definitely one of those people who works hard so that I can spend my coins on a beautiful vacation destination. I love everything about vacation- the transit portion on a train/bus/plane where I get to journal and reflect; trying out interesting local cuisine; appreciating the art and architecture; feeling out the nightlife; and of course, lounging over some cocktails and a swim, or at a cafe with a good book. Having great company is key, but lately I've come to appreciate the beauty of solo travel. You're on your own schedule, you can plan cute outings and treats for yourself and you get to be introspective and reflect. You also meet pretty interesting characters along the way!
This particular vacation was a celebratory one- my cousin Shiro turned 25! She invited 8 of her closest friends (this girl is very popular!), and together we partook in vacation festivities in vibrant New Orleans. As we get older, many people stop celebrating birthdays altogether. I get it- people feel that planning parties or outings may be excessive and time consuming. Shiro has reminded me that no matter how old we get, it's important to take time to celebrate the gift of life, appreciate our loved ones and give thanks for health and happiness. That's all for today folks, but do enjoy these lovely photographs!
